The Battle of Algiers

I think this review is correct about what impact the movie has on people, nations and organizations.

I agree that the movie shows both sides of the story, which helps people better understand the situation and many current situations. i think the movie helps people escape the black and white mentality of viewing war. There is never simply a bad guy and a good guy. Everyone is invoved in every way; innocent civilians and officials, who also have feelings.

The article stated that the Pentagon had wanted to "claim the film for their own agenda". Apparently it has helped organizations and nations be unterstood more. i think this is a good thing, that people are being informed about how some wars actually work.

Memento

Memory is one of the important things in the life of a human being, as it is the most important theme in the film Memento. Memory creates our future. Without it we could go nowhere. Without Leonard’s system of mini-stories of his life, he would be going nowhere. That said, he is going nowhere,by creating his own story that he will be condemned to follow. This is similar to the average person. I believe that people can consciously or subconsciously, mess with their memory. We can remember what we want to, block out the things we would rather not mentally deal with, or even change details of our life. While there is the possibility of making false memories, memory can also plainly happen to be false. Every story you here, if it is told from multiple people, there is bound to be some differences. Memory in a way has some power over our minds, similar to Leonards situation of mind having no control over memory.
